- O'BRIEN, PAULINE SIENKNECHT 'POLLY' - passed away November 24, 2000. Survived by husband, R.C. O'Brien, Brentwood; son, Richard O'Brien, Jackson, Tenn.; daughter, Nancy (Steve) Blume, Brentwood, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Jason and Shelley Blume of Brentwood. Born April 3, 1924 in Oliver Springs, Tenn. to Fred and Eula Sienknecht, Polly graduated from Knoxville High School in 1942 along with. future husband, R. C. Upon graduation, she worked for the heads of the University of Tennessee civil and chemical engineering departments and played clarinet at a member of the Knoxville Symphony. Polly and R.C. married in 1946 and moved to Nashville in 1959. Polly worked for several years for the Tennessee PTA then became administrative assistant to the Commissioner for the Ohio Valley Conference where she retired in 1989. Polly and R.C. recently celebrated 54 years of marriage as an inseparable couple. As a devoted wife, mother, and friends to many she will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends at the Brentwood Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2000 with Dr. Charles E. Worrell, Sr. officiating. Mrs. O'Brien will then be taken to Highland Funeral Home, Knoxville, ' Tenn. where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at which time graveside services will be conducted at Highland Memorial Park.
