Lucille (Cindy) Payne Kinnane Underwood passed away on November 25, 2018. Born in Knoxville, TN, January 2,1944, she was the daughter of Jim and Julie Payne. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Gail Payne Lawson.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas R. Underwood; 4 children, Mike Kinnane (Trish), Beth Kinnane, Patrick Kinnane (Virginia), and Kathryn Kinnane; two step children, David Underwood and Cathy Underwood; brother, Jim Payne and his wife Gwen and their daughter, Julia, sister Vickie Payne Walker (Allen); sister, Kathy; nieces, Jennifer Lawson and Stephanie Lawson Slagle, her husband, Chip, and their sons Tyler and Carson Slagle. She is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, Mike Kinnane.
Cindy graduated from Central High School of Fountain City, class of 1961. She served 25 years working in the Knoxville City and Knox County school systems, retiring from Central High School. She was a congregant of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 28th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Gentry-Griffey Funeral Chapel. There will be a graveside service at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 29th at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. John Ross officiating. Memorials requested to Riverwood Christian Community, P.O.
