CATE, HAROLD A. - age 66, of Route 3, New Market, Dumplin Community, passed away 12:55 p.m. Friday, May 11, 1990, at his home following an extended illness. He was a farmer of Jefferson County and was retired from the Maintenance Dept. of the Jefferson County School System. Veteran of WWII. Preceded in death by brothers, Roy and Cecil Cate, New Market. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jimm Vann, Morristown, Melissa and Dennis Owens, New Market; sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Glendia Cate, Dandridge, Charles and Wanda Cate, Morristown, Dennis and Robin Cate, New Market; grandchildren, Mary Vann, Cookeville, Scott Cate, Mascot, Candace Cate, New Market; sisters, Mrs. Lucille Loop, Maynardville, Mrs. Trula Ann Huskey, Lawrence, Ga., Mrs. Joyce Nelson, Clinton; brothers, Paul, D.F. and J.D. Cate, all of New Market; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Farrar's Chapel, Dandridge, Rev. Michael Brooks officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Sunday at Cate Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
