    Wanda Ruth Underwood Ownby

    New Market, TN

    Wanda Ruth Underwood Ownby, age 75, of New Market, formerly of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 8, 2018. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse retiring from Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. She was a graduate of Everett High School in Maryville. Wanda was an avid UT sports fan. In the 1970's she staffed the First Aid rooms at Neyland Stadium during football season. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Oda and Eliza Underwood and her brother Buster Underwood.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gena and Jeff Patten; son Conley Ownby; sister, Hettie Booth; nephew, Rick Booth; niece, Debbie Faulkner; and many other family members.

    Family will receive friends Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with a celebration of her life at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Bookwalter Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
