The mother of former Anderson County sheriff Francis Moore of Clinton, Mrs.Laura Stringfield Moore,98,
died last Thursday night at Anderson County Health Care Center in Clinton.Mrs.Moore,formely of Clinton Rt.7,
was a member of the Zion Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband,James A.Moore,who died in 1966.
She is survived by four sons, Fred, Elllis and Raymond Moore, all of Clinton and Lawrence Moore of Harriman,
daughter,Mrs.Hollis(Elsie) England of Wayneville,Ohio, 31 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren, sister,Mattie Jones
of Coalfield,two brothers, Ernest Stringfield of Clinton, and A.H. Stringfield of Dayton,Ohio.Funeral servcies were held
Sunday at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev.Edgar West officiating.Burial was in Tennessee Valley Memory Gardens.

MOORE, FRANCIS L. - age 92 of Clinton, passed away July 2, 2011 at NHC of Oak Ridge. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Claxton. Francis had over 13 years of experience in law enforcement and was a former Sheriff of Anderson County and Chief of Police in Clinton. He was a WWII Veteran, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and South Clinton Lions Club. He served on the board of the Anderson County Board of Education for 8 1/2 years, American Legion for 19 years and Farm Bureau for 16 years. He was the founder of Anderson County Bee Keepers Association and was a long time member of the Tennessee Bee Keepers Association. He also taught Adult Agriculture Education to veterans of WWII. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Armstrong Moore; parents, James and Laura Moore; brothers, Fred, Ellis and Raymond Moore; sister, Vada Lang and two infant sisters. Survivors include his two children, Richard (Gladys) Moore and Barbara ( Gary )Brakebill; brother, Lawrence (Edith) Moore; sister, Elsie England; grandchildren, Gary L. Brakebill, Lori( Mark) Nickelson and Richard Moore, Jr.; great grandchildren, Lauren and Allyson Nickelson, Cody, Emily, and Holly Moore; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 5, 2011, from 12-2PM at Holley Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Funeral service will be at 2:00pm with Rev. Larry Hewitt officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hollis England; infant son; parents, James and Laura Moore; brothers and sisters, Fred Moore, Francis Moore, Ellis Moore, Raymond Moore, Mae Sexton and Vada Lange.

Ralph Raymond Moore, 77, of Powell, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Moore had retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems after more than 30 years of service as a sheet metal worker at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Morgan County. He was a Baptist and attended Edgemoor Baptist Church in Claxton.
Mr. Moore's favorite hobby was coon hunting, his family said.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Roden Moore; his daughter, Nyra Jean "Pug" Daigle and her husband, Jeff, of St. Francisville, La.; his son, Randall Paul Moore and his wife, Ann, of Powell; his sister, Elsie England of Powell; and two brothers, Francis Moore and his wife, Thelma, of Powell and Lawrence Moore and his wife, Edith, of Harriman.
Mr. Moore is also survived by his grandchildren, Tonya Meayeau, Tammy Hudson, Tracy Caballero and Tara Marionneaux, all of Louisiana, and Shelby Moore of Powell; and by 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, James A. and Laura Moore, two sisters, Mae Sexton and Vada Lange, and two brothers, Fred Moore and Ellis Moore, died earlier.The funeral was held Saturday night, Oct. 28, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Michael Petty officiating.A graveside service was conducted Sunday, Oct. 29, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
