  Oliver Leonidas "O. L." Underwood was a Methodist (M. E.) minister. He held evangelistic meetings over Sevier and Jefferson and surrounding counties. He was elected Register of Deeds for Jefferson County. He died while in this office and his daughter succeeded him. She served in this office over twenty years. [1]
