- NICELY, JOYCE JENKINS - age 81, of Powell, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013. She was a member of Cumberland Baptist Church. She was a teacher at West Haven School for over 30 years. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Vida Jenkins; grandson, "Thumper" Nicely; sisters, Gladys Hensley, Henrietta Jenkins, and Bertie Bostic; and brother, Arlie Gene Jenkins. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, John "Bill" Nicely; son, Chuck Nicely and wife Diane; daughter, Suzanne Saunders and husband, Paul; grandchildren: Rachel Shea; John, Jennifer, and Jeremy Nicely; sisters, Ruth Friar and Elizabeth Brezeale and husband, Earl; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Weaver Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday for interment services.
