HUFFAKER, HELEN O'DELL - age 88 of Knoxville, is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after her passing May 21st in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, and her parents, Bernice and Homer O'Dell. Her only son, Eddie, lives in Marietta, GA with his wife Carol. She had three grandchildren: Brian (Atlanta), Grant and wife Elizabeth and great grandchild Lily Jean (Marietta), and Mitzi Taylor and husband Chance (St. Mary's GA). She became a member of Ft. City United Methodist Church as a child and loved being involved with church functions until illness slowed her down in 2010. She was proud of being a 60+ year Ft. City resident and proud to have graduated from the Central High School Class of 1942. She later enjoyed working for over 30 years at Central HS. The family would like to thank the management and staff at Emeritus of Sandy Springs Senior Living and the staff at Crossroads Hospice of Atlanta for their loving care. Serving as pallbearers are Brian Huffaker, Grant Huffaker, Chance Taylor, Kenny Carringer, Alan Witt and Raymond Rawlins. The family will receive friends at Ft. City United Methodist Church Saturday, May 26th, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. with graveside service to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Pastor Jim Whedbee officiating. Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Ft. City UMC. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
