SAULPAW, DOROTHY (DOTTIE) MARIE SPEARMAN - age 83 of Knoxville, TN, passed away October 21, 2011. Dottie was born on Feb 14, 1928 in Delano, TN and was a member of West Hills Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. Preceded in death by her husband, Karl D. Saulpaw, Jr.; parents, Glenn Pope Spearman and Nora Nam Lee Firestone; grandparents, Napoleon and Martha Spearman; sons, Glenn Wright and Charles Eric Saulpaw; daughter, Sarah Ann Werman-Saulpaw; and good "sister" friend, Louise McReynolds. Survivors include sons Karl Davenport and wife Rosemary, James Richard; and adopted son Scott Aaron all of Knoxville; grandchildren Gayle Marie and Richard Davenport Saulpaw; and sister-in-law, Doris Brown of Knoxville. Dorothy was the most generous, loving, understanding woman, one of character and integrity, and genuine humility. While in her presence, you realized how wonderful she truly was, inspiring friends and family alike, always sharing her kindness. Her sons and daughter-in-law will never forget her will, strength of character, sense of values and devotion to her family and friends. The family would like to offer special thanks to the 8th east floor Nurses, CNA's, Dr. Van Zyl and Dr. Morales at UT Hospital for the love and special care given to our mother. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26 at the family home, 8212 Chesterfield Drive (West Hills) Knoxville. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 a.m., Thursday October 27, at the Tennessee Veterans' Cemetery, 5901 Lyons View Pike, in Knoxville, with Reverend Fred Fowler officiating.
