KYTE, JEWELL THURMAN - died Friday, November 9, 2001 at his residence in Williston, Fla., he was 77. Mr. Kyte was born in Kodak, Tenn., and moved to the Williston area over 30 years ago from St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a retired postal clerk with the US Postal Service. Mr. Kyte was a Navy veteran and served on the US Christopher DE100 during WWII. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing and playing cards. Mr. Kyte was preceded in death by two sons, David Kyte and James Kyte. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Christine Kyte, Williston, Fla.; 2 sons and their wives, Gregory & Christine Kyte, Lakeland, Fla. and Jewell & Sherry Kyte, Inglis, Fla.; daughter, Vickie Kyte, Williston, Fla.; 2 sisters, Mildred Kyte, Knoxville, Tenn., and Bobbie Helton, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a close personal friend, Mary Nell Barnard, Knoxville, Tenn. Knauff Funeral Home, 512 E. Noble Ave., Williston, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
