- ELDER, CARLTON RAY -- age 39, of Knoxville, passed away October 18, 1995. He was a member of Mount Carmal Baptist Church and was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for 15 years. Survivors: parents, Glenn and Christine W. Elder; son, Chad Elder, Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Elaine Elder, Birmingham, Ala; niece and nephew, Logan and Grant Elder, Birmingham, Ala. Memorial service 8 p.m. Friday at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel, Rev C. D. Hagaman officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mount Carmel Baptist Church or the American Cancer Association.
