Cate file 21 Nov 2001): CATE, RUBEN ALLEN (RUBE) age 86, of Route 3, New Market, Dumplin Community, passed away 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Royal Care Nursing Home, Pigeon Forge, following a brief illness. Member of Dumplin Baptist Church, French Broad Lodge No 588 F&AM, Kodak OES No. 460, Knoxville Scottish Rige Bodies. Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Mildred) Lindsey, Dandridge; sons, Rev. Kyle Cate and Glenn Cate, both of New Market; stepdaughter, Mrs. Burl (Matilda) Wilhite; stepson, Mike Sharp, both of Strawberry Plains; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dumplin Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Brooks, Rev. Earl Willis and Rev. Steve Patton officiating. Interment Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Dumplin Baptist Church. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
