D. F. Cate - Age 76, of Baldwin Cate Rd., New Market, Tenn., passed away Tuesday morning, March 5, 2002 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was born and raised, and was a life long resident of the Dumplin Community of Jefferson County, and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Member of the Dumplin Baptist Church, and was an avid baseball fan. Preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Cate; parents, Arthur and Mae Woolard Cate; brothers Paul, Roy, Harold, and Cecil Cate, and daughter-in law, Hope Cate. Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Kenny Ballew, Kay and Charlie Blake, Rhonda and Jacky Bukhart, and Angie and Frankie Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, W. A. Cate, Fred and Shirley Cate, Ted and Sharon Cate, and Richie and Brenda Cate; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Loop, Trula Huskey and Joyce Nelson; brother, J.L. Cate; sister-in-law, Blanche Cate, and brother-in law, Bobby Cate. Funeral services Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at the Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Ron Jones and Rev. Kyle Cate officiating. Internment to follow in Cate Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
