- WELCH TEDDIE E. JR. - age 54 of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of the Christian Faith. He was a loyal employee of ORNL for 30 years. Retired with over 20 years of service to the Army and National Guard. He is survived by: his wife of 24 years, Gail Welch; sons, Teddie E. Welch III, Rex Welch and Jason Welch; mother and father, Jackie and Teddie Welch Sr.; sister, Pam Wolfenbarger; beloved niece, Sabrina Wolfenbarger; mother and father-in- law, Ann and Rex Rucker; aunt, Ella Mae Welch Powell; 6 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; several other nieces and nephew. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:45 am Saturday for an 11:00 am graveside services, Lynn Kohler officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors provided by the Volunteer State Honor Guard. Family will receive friends 5-7:30 pm Friday at Gentry-Griffey Chapel.
