- Janet Decker passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Janet was a long-time resident of Somerset but most recently resided in Roswell, GA. She was married for 43 years to Andy Decker and they jointly ran Decker Drug Store formerly located on the Somerset city square. Later, Janet also worked alongside her brother-in-law Gene Hurt at Farm Bureau Insurance where she continued serving our community. Janet was also a faithful member of Somerset First Baptist Church where she participated in the choir, taught Sunday school and enjoyed life-long friendships. Other than her family, Janet was most passionate about her music and found great joy playing the piano at churches, weddings, personal care facilities and for the entertainment of her family and friends.
Janet was born to the late Elbert and Mabel Huddleston in 1935. A brother, Verlin Huddleston, preceded her in death. She is survived by a sister Mary Lynn Hurt (Somerset), a son Scott Decker (Florence, KY), a daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Randy Dotson (Roswell, GA), two grand-daughters Ashley Demmitt (Peachtree City, GA) and Natalie Dotson (Roswell, GA), and many loving nieces and nephews. Her legacy includes kindness and generosity which will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to an Alzheimer's charity of your choice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Pendley officiating. Burial will follow in the Decker Family Cemetery.
