James Marshall and Mayme Pollard Smith had no children.

James Marshall and Mayme Pollard Smith lived on Pickering Street, Knoxville, Tennessee. (Burlington section of Knoxville). Aunt Mayme's sister, Elizabeth P. Fox and Sallie Mae H. Bumbalough were neighbors. Later, Sallie and Joel Bumbalough moved to Michigan. Sallie's parents, James Payne and Bertha Mae P. Hancock purchased the Bumbalough's house near Marshall and Mayme Pollard when Interstate-40 took their home on Cedar St., Knoxville. (dch-c)
