He was a member and Deacon of Bethany Baptist Church and was a retired
Truck Driver of Jefferson Smurfit (CCA). He was preceded in death by
wife of 52 years, Ruth Humphreys; parents, S.U. (Ben) and Janie
Humphrey; brothers, James and Vance Humphrey and sister, Ollie Marie
Humphrey. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pat and David West; son
and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ramah Humphrey of Knoxville; very special
friend, Imogene Vandegriff of Maynardville; grandchildren, Felicia
Humphrey, Mike West and wife, Marsha; Angela Partelow and husband,
Scott, all of Knoxville, Bobby West and wife, Lisa of Maynardville;
great-grandchildren, Ethan Partelow, Justin and Hannah West, all of
Knoxville, Amber and Robby West of Maynardville; brothers, Paul Humphrey
and wife, Bonnie of LaFollette; sisters, Mary Graham, Bessie Humphrey,
Ruby Lindsay and husband, James, Lois Johnson and husband, Harlan, all
of Clinton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 2 p.m. Sunday at
Mynatt's Chapel, Rev. Jack Day and Rev. Steve Davis officiating.
