    John volunteered for the Revolutionary War and served for five years. John moved from Prince George Co, MD to Virginia, to Surry Co, NC, and was living in Grainger Co, TN by 1799 in as much as he is listed on the tax rolls there. He was also listed on the Grainger Co, TN tax rolls in 1804, 1814, and 1821. John was picked to serve on a grand jury in Grainger Co, TN on Aug 15, 1803.

He divides his estate equally between his wife and children and leaves either one hundred acres of land or cash with which to buy land to his sons.
