The Waiting Room

I sit in my waiting room...
and look up at the sky.
I am so thankful that...
God let me say bye.

Here eyes where so peaceful...
with a voice that was so true.
I would give anything...
to hear her say I love you.

She tried to be strong...
with a delicate touch.
But when it was time for me to leave...
it all became to much.

She told me not to worry...
as she started to cry.
I knew what she meant...
and with a hug I said bye.

I felt so helpless...
as my heart started to pound.
My knees got week...
as my tears hit the ground.

As I walked through the house...
and on my way out the door.
Memorize of my childhood...
almost slammed me to the floor.

I remember her smile...
every time I came in town.
I don't have one memory...
of ever seeing here frown.

She would sit in her chair...
and talk to you for hours.
Telling you old stories...
and how much she loved flowers.

She loved to help people...
and make them feel good.
I would give her a huge hug...
If only I could.

Now she is in heaven...
to live forever more.
Here love lives inside me...
and will forever drip through every pore.

I will see her again...
in that heavenly place.
When I leave my waiting room...
with God's saving grace.

The world is our waiting room...
if you believe in God you will know.
For when you see Saint Peter...
through heavens gates you will go.
