952 POLLARD, L. C. - age 89, passed away March 11, 2007 at home. He was a WWII veteran of the Navy. He was employed by ALCOA for 30 years. Long time member of Bookwalter United Methodist Church, serving as head usher for many years. With his love for God and church he was influential in many people becoming part of Bookwalter UMC. He will always be remembered for his hugs. Preceded in death by: his parents, Lige and Dicie Pollard; wife of 54 years, Inez Pollard; sister, Ruth Henderson and stepson, Stanley Poynter. 953 POLLARD, LUCY HICKMAN - age 85 of Kodak, passed away Monday, October 16, 2006. She was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. She worked at the Sevier County School Board and was a lifelong member of Beech Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Grace Hickman, husband Edd Pollard, and daughter Sharon Russell. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law: Joyce and Mack Gass; son-in-law: Clell Russell; sisters and brothers-in-law: Agnes and Lloyd Denton, Lillie and Woody Allred; several nieces and nephews. 954 POLLARD, NINA BAILEY - of Knoxville passed away Friday January 15, 2010 at Shannondale Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by husband, James F. (Jim) Pollard; daughter, Darla Woods; parents, James H. and Gertrude Bailey; brother, James W. Bailey. Retired US Army veteran with 20 years of service having served in the Korean War and had three tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Employee of Tenneco Oil Company for 14 years until his disability in 1985. Preceded in death by: parents, Hobart and Leona King Pollard; daughter, Lisa M. Pollard; brother, Earl M. Pollard. Survivors: loving wife of 36 years, Jo Ann (Lee) Pollard; son, Eddie Pollard, both of Maynardville; very special grandson, Michael Jeffrey Pollard; sister, Lois Collier; brothers, Bud and David Pollard, all of Luttrell; several very loving and caring nieces and nephews. Ralph Raymond Moore, 77, of Powell, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Moore had retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems after more than 30 years of service as a sheet metal worker at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant.He was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Morgan County. He was a Baptist and attended Edgemoor Baptist Church in Claxton.
Mr. Moore's favorite hobby was coon hunting, his family said.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Roden Moore; his daughter, Nyra Jean "Pug" Daigle and her husband, Jeff, of St. Francisville, La.; his son, Randall Paul Moore and his wife, Ann, of Powell; his sister, Elsie England of Powell; and two brothers, Francis Moore and his wife, Thelma, of Powell and Lawrence Moore and his wife, Edith, of Harriman.
Mr. Moore is also survived by his grandchildren, Tonya Meayeau, Tammy Hudson, Tracy Caballero and Tara Marionneaux, all of Louisiana, and Shelby Moore of Powell; and by 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, James A. and Laura Moore, two sisters, Mae Sexton and Vada Lange, and two brothers, Fred Moore and Ellis Moore, died earlier.The funeral was held Saturday night, Oct. 28, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. Michael Petty officiating.A graveside service was conducted Sunday, Oct. 29, at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
