176 Both Irene Humphrey-Bartholomew and Mary Pauline Russell indicate that Albert was in possession of a lot of genealogical material on the Humphrey family, including some deeds. When approached by relatives (Mary Pauline says that it was George Loy) who told him that he was not really a part of the Humphrey line since his wife Elizabeth had died, he burned all these documents out of spite. Irene connects this to the Spindletop affair while Mary Pauline does not.

Irene indicates that Albert and Lucy lived in a log cabin. Albert also ran a general store in the Andersonville area. Grace Hillon indicates that after Albert's death, Lucy moved into a large new house.
