    HANCOCK SR., LEROY - age 83, of Townsend, formerly of Knoxville, died Saturday at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak. He was formerly employed by KTL of Knoxville and the former owner of Arrowhead Grocery Store in Townsend. Preceded in death by parents, James Payne and Bertha Pollard Hancock; son, Kyle David Hancock. Survivors include wife of 61 years, Nola Mae Wilhite Hancock; son, Leroy "Andy" Hancock, Jr. of Cascade, Idaho; son and daughter-in-law, Clinton and Bonnie Hancock of Walls, Miss.; daughters and sons-in-law, DeAnna Carolyn and Virgil Cooley of Townsend, Gwenda and Donald Stephenson of Townsend, Cynthia and Rocky Dukes of Memphis; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sallie Mae and Joel Bumbalough of Ocala, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 P.M. Monday, April 17, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Chris Reneau and Rev. Brad Bryant officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at Caylors Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville. 983-1000

    HANCOCK, NOLA MAE WILHITE - age 81, of Townsend, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2001, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Kinzel Springs Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Herbert Irvin and Pearl Victoria Kyker Wilhite. Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by husband of 61 years, Leroy Hancock, Sr.; son, Kyle David Hancock; brothers, Sherman, Burl, Lee, Carl Sr., and Harold Wilhite. Survivors include sons, Leroy "Andy" Hancock, Jr. of Cascade, Idaho, and Clinton Eugene and Bonnie Kate Hancock of Walls, Miss.; daughters and sons-in-law, Deanna Carolyn and Virgil Cooley of Walland, Gwenda and Donald Stephenson of Townsend, Cynthia and Rocky Dukes of Memphis; grandchildren, Michael Cooley of Walland, Danny and Michelle Stephenson of Maryville, Jennifer Houston of Walland, Debra France of Portland, Oreg., Robert W. and Karen Hancock of Las Vegas, Nev., Jessica Dukes of Memphis and Kyle David Hancock of Walls, Miss.; six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Wilma Wilhite of Morristown; brother, Billy Wilhite of Strawberry Plains; sister, Jean Flattre of La Mirada, Calif., and many nieces, nephews, and special friends of Walnut Loop. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2001, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Guinn Green, Rev. Moses Moore, and Rev. Dale Buchanan officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2001, at Caylor's Chapel in Townsend for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to Townsend Church of God, 324 Webb Road, Townsend, TN 37882.
