MOORE, THELMA M. age 89 of Powell, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Claxton. Thelma graduated from Ft. Sanders Nursing School in 1942 and was a registered nurse for more than 40 years. She belonged to the Anderson County Beekeepers Association. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by parents, Fred & Dossie Armstrong; sister, Lorene Armstrong Smith; brothers, Samuel & Cyril Armstrong.
Survivors: husband of 66 years: Francis Moore of Powell; daughter: Barbara Brakebill & husband, Gary of Clinton; son: Richard Moore & wife, Gladys of Clinton; grand children: Richard Moore, Lori Nickelson & husband, Mark, Gary Brakebill; great-grandchildren: Cody, Emily & Holly Moore, Lauren & Allyson Nickelson; sister: Wilma Armstrong of Maryville; brother: Ben Armstrong of Indiana; several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 6-8PM at the Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 8:00PM in the chapel with Rev. Rev. Harold Ogle & Rev. Larry Hewitt officiating. Family & friends will meet on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11:00AM at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton for graveside services. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of the arrangements.
